Avoid Mobile Phones while Driving: Mobile phones can distract you from the road and endanger both you and other road users. This is a punishable offence, but is also just ethically incorrect.

Follow Lane Discipline: Stick to your lane and do not unnecessarily change lanes, especially without indication. Make sure to communicate where you are going at all times to avoid miscommunication and crashes.

Do not overtake on the wrong side: Overtaking from the left puts you and the other vehicle at a risk of being blindsided, leading to crashes. Always overtake from the right and without speeding.

Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles: One of the most important rules for a car driver is to avoid tailgating other cars. Make sure to maintain adequate distance from other vehicles to avoid a pileup.

Do not block intersections: Avoid stopping your car in the middle of intersections, even during traffic jams, as it creates congestion and violates road rules. When you wait at a red light, make sure you are situated well behind the zebra crossing.

Check mirrors properly: When you get into the car, make sure to check all the mirrors are in the right place. Moreover, when you are changing lanes or going to another road, check the front and rearview mirrors to ensure all the vehicles around you are situated properly.

Drive within visibility: During foggy or rainy conditions, drive at a speed where you can stop safely within your visible range to avoid accidents. Make sure to know where other vehicles are around you in all sides.

Always have car insurance: Make sure that you always have a valid car insurance plan. In case of emergencies, not having a car insurance plan can lead to major financial and legal complications. Even without any emergencies, you should produce valid insurance papers to avoid fines and penalties.

Make way for emergency vehicles: Make sure you know car driving rules and keep away from ambulances, fire engines or police vehicles in case their sirens and lights are on. Move to the side of the road and stop till they cross.
